I finally made the switch to neocities. It's actually a lot easier to make changes to my website using neocities rather than connecting to my server via ssh and editing the files entirely on the command line. Not only is it easier to make changes to this site, it also doesn't cost anything to host this site anymore.
I'm going to try hosting this website on neocities, for a few reasons. I spend about $3.50 USD running this website each month. That's not a considerable amount of money by any means, but I'd rather save that money if I can. Hosting this site on neocities means I won't have to spend any money at all. This website is literally just very basic HTML/CSS, so it'll probably be easy to transfer things over anyway. I also won't have to pay for my own domain name, which is both a positive and a negative. I'd like to have my monthly expenses as low as possible, so that's why I'm going to try out neocities and see if it works out. That's all for now.
I've been working on some articles for the articles section of this website. I just decided to host the media files on third party services because I can't figure out an easy way to manage media files on my server. I'll have to figure it out at some point when I have more time on my hands. I made some more edits to the homepage of the site.
I was thinking about writing an article about Ross Ulbricht, but I think I'll just give my thoughts about him here. He was recently pardoned by Donald Trump after serving 11 years behind bars for crimes related to running the Silk Road. I think he served enough time in prison for what he did, so I have no issue with him being pardoned. I'm hoping he will go on some podcast (maybe Joe Rogan or something) to talk about what went down when he got caught, and what prison was like.
I still need to get a VHS player to digitize some tapes. A family member was going to help me get a VHS player, but they have not followed through. I purchased a composite to HDMI converter, and I already had a cheap HDMI capture device on hand. Now I just need to get the VHS player, and I can attempt to digitize the tapes that I have. I'll probably write a tutorial about it depending on how things go.
I'll make some more changes to the site over the next few days. Sometimes it feels pointless running this site because I don't promote it at all (other than telling some friends about it), but I do enjoy running it. The monthly cost of running this website isn't that much anyway.
I've been very busy with IRL stuff the past couple months. I haven't really had time to just sit down and work on this website. I'm working on basically remaking the entire site. Some links are broken and some information is outdated, so I'm going to work on fixing/updating stuff. I'm considering deleting the "opinions" section of my website and just creating articles for each topic. There are some changes I'd like to make anyway. None of the media files on this website are hosted on my server, so I'll have to figure out how to upload them to my server.
Aside from website related stuff, I have finals next week, but after that, I will hopefully be less busy. A couple weeks ago I bought Bitcoin for the first time ever when it was at $97,500 USD. I don't have any practical use for BTC right now, but maybe I will in the future. Oh yeah it's now 2025. Too bad the world ended 13 years ago and we're actually just living in a simulation.
I have finally fixed the "Articles" section of the site (kind of). I've been pretty busy with real life stuff, so I haven't had much time to work on this website. Thanksgiving is later this week. I am thankful for people who give me Monero (so far no one, so I guess I have nothing to be thankful for). This is Trumps America...
I'm considering making a 'Tutorials' section on the website. I'm going to digitize some old family VHS tapes when I get my hands on a VHS player. The VHS tapes are anywhere from 20-30 years old, so I want to do this soon to avoid quality degradation. I'm also going to digitize thousands of old family photos, which I will do once I find a good photocopier that isn't too expensive. I'd like to make tutorials documenting the best way to do these things once I do it myself.

One day until election day. How exciting. My prediction: Trump will win. But who cares. I'm still not going to VOOOOOOT. I've made some more changes to the home page, the opinions page, and the technology page. I'm working on an "articles" section. Pretty self explanatory. I have a few different topics that I want to write about, like browsers and the importance of backing up your data.
Made some small changes to the homepage. Might continue to make some changes to the other existing pages over the next few days, considering I'm substantially less busy now.
I have created my own website. How cool. I programmed everything myself, which should be obvious. I'll continue to update the site over time. I'll run the site for at least one year, then I'll decide if I want to keep it up.
